The main advantage of their lightweight nature means that you can now create your own safe rooms inside your structure without needing to re-engineer the building to hold the tons and tons of weight imposed by traditional metal armor plate. This means you can discreetly up-armor your home, place of worship, school, church, synagogue or store quickly and easily without the cost. Just cut the panels to size and use constructive adhesive and screws to hold them to the wall studs, and now you’re bulletproof.
Each 4mm layer of material weighs a little more than a half-pound and will stop a handgun point blank. If you use 5 layers of material, you can stop a .308 rifle or AK. Yes, this material is NIJ tested & certified.
Unfortunately it’s time to think defensively for our most vulnerable. With Ballisti! panels, now you can have peace of mind.
USE CASE EXAMPLE Example HV transformer by Larson Electronics. BallistiBlast! Panels can be used to armor the interior surface of enclosures for up to .308 resistance and with simple adhesive, adding a mere 1/8” to 5/8″” of thickness to the inside of the enclosure, (where it cannot be seen), without the weight restrictions imposed by traditional steel armor plate. The material can easily be passed off as “sound deadening material” to make it appear to be a “nondescript” accessory item, allowing you to up-armor strategic assets without drawing attention.
Note zero penetration of 9mm, .40 or .45 caliber handgun rounds.
Our rifle plates are the equivalent of 5 layers of the 1/8″ panel pictured above. This picture is of the official 5-layer test panel setup that was shot by ArmorWorks, Inc. four times with .308 ball ammo at 3600+FPS.
Note that the panels were shot without a backface support and exhibit minimal backface deformation.
To achieve this protection, we adhere a layer of SmartMetal to the back side of the ballistic panel strike face and a backing panel to support the expanded foam when it gets hit. Think of it like a crumple zone in a car. The foam cushions the strike face as it deforms, arresting the shockwave as the impact happens, thus protecting you even more, while still being incredibly lightweight.
One additional benefit?It FLOATS!
- Weight (as pictured): 5.3 lbs. versus
- 10.2 lbs. for steel,
- 8 lbs. for ceramic
- 6.5 lbs. for polymer combined with UHMWPE.
Ballistic Protection:
- Each layer of ballistic board is only 3mm thick.
- Single layer of ballistic board can stop handgun rounds and only weighs 9.6oz/sqft.
- Multiple layers increases threat level protection.
- To achieve Level IV+ requires 5 layers of ballistic plate;
- Stops any rifle round, and special threat plates are AP / green-tip protection ready.
Blast Protection:
Aluminum foam absorbs the G-forces extremely efficiently.
- Strain rate insensitive
- Reduction of G-loading to a ratio of 10:1
- Lightweight
- Buoyant
- Less Cost
- Can meet STANAG Level IVb
- In low-rate production for Combat Vehicles.
Bottom line:
These proven ballistics and blast protection technologies working together, delivers a transformational and extremely cost-effective, immediately implementable armoring solution for the United States’ critical infrastructure, vehicles, craft, drones, structures, people – even animals (K9, horses, etc.) in an easy to install, rapidly deployable system that can instantly improve our nation’s grid security.
